Antique Ashford marble obelisks with geometric design
Product Description
Very interesting 19th century English Ashford marble obelisks with a geometric inset design on the front of the obelisks and a floral inset design on the plinths. The specimen geometric insets include marble, malachite, lapis lazuli and others. Ashford marble obelisks were favored by Queen Victoria, and examples can be seen at Chatsworth, the seat of the Dukes of Devonshire.
Dimensions: 18 inches tall. 5 inch square base.
Condition:Various chips and nicks consistent with age. One has some chips on the face of the plinth and at the base of the obelisk. Both have chips at their tips. The second has various chips around the corners of the base, and at the base of the obelisk. More photos can be provided on request.
